Jammina screening on the SW Earbus

Jammina screening on the SW Earbus

Earbus Foundation has reached the iconic mining town of Collie for the first time with screening being delivered to schools and families as part of our SW Program.

Historically Collie has been Western Australia's most important coal mining town. It has a population of 9,500 and wide range of services to meet the needs of a growing population. It has five primary schools. Collie is located 202 km south of Perth and is a 40-minute drive from Bunbury.

The Earbus Program commenced with visits in November to Amaroo and Wilson Park primary schools and the Child and Parenting Centre, which is on-site at Wilson Park. We expect more schools to sign up as the program develops. A second visit is scheduled for December before the school year finishes.

Our SW Screener, Jammima West and Nurse Audiometrist (and Earbus Co-Founder) Dee Parker staff our mobile clinic at the Collie sites and work with local staff to establish treatment pathways and support.
