Data Officer, Leonie Wilkes

I’m a proud Wadjuk and Binjareb woman, growing up surrounded by family and friends; this opened me up to be social and talkative. 

I’m passionate about my culture and Aboriginal history, learning so much at a young age educated me about Nyoongar culture. There’s nothing I love more than listening to my elders talk about history and showing me their teachings. 

I’m a performer and love showcasing traditional dance; no matter how I’m feeling I‘ll always perform as I believe dancing traditional dances can heal your soul. 

I enjoy reading, dancing and singing. 

There’s nothing better than having a laugh with the people that mean most to me and I get so excited every time we have plans to hang out or go for dinner. It’s really a favourite pastime.
