Pilbara Earbus Service Expands

Earbus Foundation of WA is delighted to announce an expansion of the Earbus Program in the Pilbara region to include Marble Bar and Nullagine. The expansion is funded by the Australian Government’s Healthy Ears – Better Hearing, Better Listening program, administered through Rural Health West.

“We are delighted and excited to work with Shannon Simpson (A/School Principal Nullagine) and Mike Cuneo (School Principal, Marble Bar)”, said Earbus Foundation CEO Paul Higginbotham. “They have made us feel very welcome and we look forward to great partnerships.”

The new services are being delivered with the support and cooperation of our Pilbara partners- Royal Flying Doctor Service, WA Country Health and Wirraka Maya Aboriginal Health Service. A full screening, treatment and surveillance ear health program will be delivered to support existing Community and School Health Services in both towns.

“It is a challenge to be working in Australia’s hottest town but exciting to be extending our services to reach more children”, said Mr Higginbotham.
