Earbus Febuary Recap

Kalgoorlie Earbus Clinic

Earbus Foundation commenced the first trip of 2016 to the Goldfields in early February. Students and new staff from Bega Garnbarringu join the team in Kalgoorlie to see and treat children. Children who had surgery in December 2015 now have hearing within normal limits which has delighted the team.

The team returned to Perth for a week before heading off on their next trip, this time to the Pilbara. The team started the year visiting one of the communities with Dr Belinda Wozencroft. Families attended Earbus to have their children treated and also to learn a bit about ear health, the message: every child needs to hear so they can learn!

On the 25th Earbus Audiologist Nina Wallace (pictured below) headed to Fitzroy Valley with ENT specialist Dr David for a clinic where Earbus is supporting the local program with hearing testing in the Kimberley.

Preparing for surgery was a major focus of the trip up north for the team.

Some of the kids needed to bring a friend to help them in the hospital!

ENT surgeon Dr Jafri was delighted with the 100% turnout for surgery including children from Nullagine Community, Yandeyarra and Warralong. Dr Jafri and Paul discuss each case to ensure continuity of care following procedures.
