Ear disease has been routine childhood experience for generations of Aboriginal children - parents are often not shocked by runny noses and pouring ears, having experienced them themselves as children. This “normalisation” of ear disease is a sad legacy that contributes to unacceptably high rates of infection and disease, and lack of timely treatment.

Over the years I have had experience in different fields of nursing. Most recently completed a project in partnership with Edith Cowan University as Aboriginal Brain Injury Coordinator “Healing Right Way”, that enabled me to experience community health, as well as the acute setting. Kwinana Clinic: A permanent presence in the Kwinana community
