EARBUS' LATEST INNOVATIONS!
Earbus CEO, Lara Shur demonstrating the ABR equipment to Fortescue's Abbie Battye.
Earbus has found innovative solutions to solve the problems experienced by Aboriginal and at-risk children in regional and remote Australia.
In July, Earbus CEO Dr Lara Shur and Executive Director Paul Higginbotham were delighted to meet with Abbie Battye from Fortescue in Hedland. Abbie saw the Earbus program in action and received a demonstration of our specialist diagnostic ABR equipment.
Having this specialist equipment on the ground is invaluable, as it can save families with newborn babies a stressful trip to Perth for diagnostic hearing tests. It also allows for more complex testing of the auditory system from the ear to the brain for older children.
Additionally, thanks to Fortescue, we have purchased a significant number of Bone Conduction headsets to be used by children in this region. These innovative devices use Bone Conduction technology to bypass middle ear disease and allow children in schools to hear, learn and thrive.
The Earbus team looks forward to bringing these innovations into schools in Term 3 to help children hear, learn, and thrive despite middle ear disease!
